YRC book displays reflect many topics. "Hand in Hand: Ten Black Men Who Changed America" by Andrea Davis Pinkney, with paintings by her husband Brian Pinkney, reflects a civil rights exhibit in the Library. The late Walter Dean Myers ("Hoops") and Kate DiCamillo ("Flora & Ulysses") are former and current Ambassadors for Young People's Literature. Author Lois Lowry previewed a clip from the film, "The Giver," and discussed the adaptation from her book of the same name at the Jonah Solkoff Eskin Memorial Lecture in the spring of 2014. |
