Court of Neptune Fountain Conservation

Court of Neptune Fountain Conservation:

Did you know? The Court of Neptune Fountain was sculpted by Roland Hinton Perry, cast by Henry Bonnard Co., and completed in 1898. Neptune, King of the sea, is flanked by tritons and sea nymphs riding horses and various sea creatures. The pool area of the fountain holds serpents and turtles.

What's happening? We are conserving the bronze sculptures with a thorough cleaning to remove all stains and mineral building caused by weathering and fountain water. This will be followed by waxing to preserve the completed bronze luster. We are also cleaning the masonry, repairing and repainting the basin to restore the overall visual composition of the fountain.

Impact: The Court of Neptune Fountain will be out of operation for approximately 4-5 weeks during this conservation. We apologize for any inconvenience.
