Existing comment: First Philippine Division

The Library of Congress houses in its collections a large number of company rosters, many illustrated with photographs. This roster shows members of the 9th Regiment, who were Filipino, including the officers. At the time, the Philippines were governed by the United States as part of an American empire in the Pacific. The regiment was part of a 15,000-man division, which was still in training at the time of the 1918 Armistice. The roster was intended as a souvenir for unit members and includes every member's name as well as character sketches of the unit's officers.
