Impersonating Winnie-the-Pooh
Initially created for the pages of the Washington Post Sunday Magazine section in 2004, Richard Thompson brought Beltway culture alive in the panels of his comic strip Cul de Sac. He earned something almost unheard of in the twenty-first century -- syndication. Just as Thompson won acclaim from his fellow artists, Parkinson's disease robbed him of his ability to draw. He retired the feature in 2012. Here, the Blisshaven Academy Preschool guinea pig, Mr. Danders, has escaped and has a Winnie-the-Pooh moment in the air with a hungry hawk. |
