Super Heroes
The modern comic book as we know it emerged in 1934 with Famous Funnies, no. 1, which was a compilation of reprinted newspaper comic strips. Soon after, the comic book industry began to publish original content and populate their pages with superheroes. Though they appear together in World's Best Comics, Superman first appeared in Action Comics, no. 1 (1938), Batman first appeared in Detective Comics, no. 27 (1939), and Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics, no. 8 (1941). These beloved superheroes remain popular around the world today. |
