This monument was paid for by formerly enslaved people and their act of raising money as freed people is significant.
But the time has come to AMEND this monument. Wouldn't it be great to see other monuments here that are by amazing artists like:

* Titus Kaphar (kapharstudio.com -- watch his TED talk "Can Art Amend History?"
