Existing comment: Terrifying Incident

During the Depression Rosa Parks worked as a housekeeper for a young white couple with an infant. In this first-person account she describes how she was nearly raped by a white neighbor of her employers in the spring of 1931. She recalls the abuse of her enslaved great grandmother and the trial of the Scottsboro Boys in comparison. The incident may have been a catalyst for her later work investigating interracial rape cases.
