Existing comment: Gasoline Alley

The Sunday color comics section of the newspaper became extremely popular with the reading public in the early-twentieth century. These pages, now highly sought after by collectors because of their relative scarcity, were also prized by cartoonists for the opportunity to utilize a full page for their creations. This particular page from the Chicago Tribune features Gasoline Alley, the longest running comic strip in the United States since its debut in 1918, and includes unusually well-preserved vibrant bright reds and blues.
