Radio Shows
From 1930 to 1950, fictional cops were some of the most popular characters on the radio. These ran the gamut from the sensationalistic Gangbusters to the methodical Dragnet to the ever-present westerns. Kids shows offered prizes via a sponsor as incentive to keep listening. Many popular radio programs were turned into TV shows as that became a more popular mode of entertainment.
