Crime Scene Investigation

When CSI: Crime Scene Investigation premiered in 2000 it was the first of many TV shows in the genre. An attractive crew of investigators always solved crimes. Because they used "science," their conclusions were indisputable. In real life, forensic evidence can be inconclusive, take months to process, and costs can be prohibitive.
The "CSI effect" has had a real impact on juries, giving them unrealistic expectations about the evidence needed for conviction.
