Existing comment: General Warren:
General Warren's Fifth Corps Headquarters Flag, which likely flew outside Ellwood, is today in the West Point Museum. The bullet holes in the flag are reputed to have come from the battle of the Wilderness.
A staff officer described Warren at the Wilderness. "He was mounted on a fine looking white horse, was neatly uniformed, and wore the yellow sash of a general officer. He was one of the few officers who wore their sashes in a campaign, or paid much attention to their dress."
