The Battlefield:
The battlefield at Horseshoe Bend contained an extraordinary barricade that spanned the neck of the peninsula. The barricade was burned in the attack, but other evidence of the battle remains -- an axe, iron grape shot, musket balls, cannon balls, a bullet mold, and projectile points. All bear witness to the deadly battle waged here. |
