Although Andrew Jackson kept this undated article from a Nashville newspaper on Indian Removal west of the Mississippi, he made no notation on the filing sleeve his reaction to it. The author, who signed the article under the pseudonym "Agricola," compares the removal of the Indians to a son getting married and moving from home -- that it was a timely and necessary thing that no wise parent would prevent. |
