The posts in the water on the far left used to be used by an automotive bridge that crossed here (you can see it now crosses further up the Shenandoah River). The abandoned posts to the left of the railroad tracks were the original railroad bridge which was burned during the Civil War. You can see a passenger station on the far right of the picture. Also note the boaters passing under the bridges. |
