Existing comment: Belin House:
Three generations of the Belin family lived in this house from 1825 to 1870. Augustus Belin, his son Henry Hedrick Belin, and grandson Henry Belin Jr., all served as head bookkeeper for the Du Pont Company. Extensive additions were made to the house in 1845 and 1868. When it was restored in 1972, structurally unsound Victorian wings were removed.
Today the building houses a coffee shop and serves as a temporary residence for visiting scholars to Hagley Museum and Library.
