Narrow Gauge Railroad:
A narrow gauge railroad facilitated the movement of raw materials and powder between the various processes.
Specially designed cars were used -- the smaller ones propelled by hand, the larger box cars pulled by horse or mule power. At the height of black powder production over five miles of track ran throughout the yards. This restored section has been placed on its original roadbed. |
