Existing comment: Ceremonial Gates:
About 1906, a new entrance to the Hagley powder yard was built, replacing wooden gates that were a little further upstream. With the inscription on the top marking the 100th anniversary of the DuPont Company, they have become known as the Centennial Gates. More than four million visitors to Hagley Museum have passed through them.
In this 1957 photo, retired powderman Ed Bader revisions the gates which he built more than fifty years earlier.
