Existing comment: This is an early 1900s bronze copy of the Greek Belvedere Torso that was sculpted in the mid-1st century B.C. from parian marble by Apollonios of Athens. It is signed only with the foundry "G. Nisini, Roma" on the back. The sculpture is of the Greek God Heracles (Hercules in Roman mythology). Hercules was known for his great strength and courage. The original is in the Vatican Museum in Rome, Italy.
