A memorial to Confederate general James Longstreet. I had contributed money to this memorial and attended its dedication in 1998 or so. It was the first monument to that general, who had lost his reputation in southern communities because of his criticism of the godlike Robert E Lee after the war as well as his political support for Ulysses Grant as President. |
