After the Battle:
Although the photograph taken from York Street looking south along Stratton Street was taken well after the battle, the disarray closely resembles the after-battle chaos prevalent in Gettysburg's streets and yards. The cupola building in the center background is the German Reformed Church (still standing), which served as a hospital. |
