Existing comment: 7th Cavalry grave marker from the Little Bighorn Battlefield, June 25, 1876

Fourteen years after the Battle of Little Bighorn, 252 markers were placed on the battlefield, where members of the 7th Cavalry were believed to have fallen. According to records, only 210 of Custer's men were actually lost, so many of the anonymous markers were redundant. This marker was vandalized and removed from the site, later to be disposed of by the US Government.
