Existing comment: William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody
February 26, 1846 - January 10, 1917

At various times, William "Buffalo Bill" Cody was a rider for the Pony Express, a buffalo hunter who fed the workers laying the western railroads, a Union Veteran of the Civil War, an Indian Scout for the US Army, and most famously, an entertainer to rival P.T. Barnum. From 1883 to 1916, his successful touring Wild West Shows brought dramatic reenactments of historic encounters, sharpshooters like Annie Oakley, famous Native American figures, and some of the world's greatest equestrians to towns throughout America and Europe.
