All of the dams here as everywhere are filling up with silt, something that they hope will take hundreds of years to finish happening and leaving the problem to subsequent generations. The Bureau of Land Management person here told me "It will be 400 to 500 years before the canyon completely fills up with silt. We'll both be long dead by then." It's someone else's worry. Sounds like some people's attitude toward federal deficits. |
