National September 11 Memorial:
The Memorial at the site of the World Trade Center in New York City consists of two massive pools set within the footprints of the Twin Towers. Waterfalls cascade 30 feet to the base of each pool. Bronze panels surrounding the pools are inscribed with the names of the 2,983 people killed by terrorists in the attacks of February 26, 1993, and September 11, 2001. The Memorial opened on September 12, 2011. |
