(6) 9:34am: Flight 93 begins an unauthorized climb, then turns to the southeast. Herndon Command Center relays a report on Flight 93 to FAA Headquarters.

(7) 9:39am: A hijacker makes another broadcasted announcement, "Uh, this is the captain. Would like you all to remain seated. There is a bomb aboard and we go back to the airport, and to have our demands [unintelligible]. Please remain quiet."

(8) 9:41am: Hijackers turns off Flight 93's transponder, the device which sends out a signal identifying the plane's position and altitude. Cleveland tracks the plane on radar and matches the readings with visual sightings by other aircraft.
