Existing comment: Flight 93:
Flight 93, a Boeing 757-200, is configured to seat 182 passengers. However, the flight has only 33 passengers, seven crew members, and four hijackers aboard. In 2001, this light load is not unusual. In planning the attacks, the hijackers choose flights that typically have few passengers on board, assuming they will encounter less resistance during the takeover of the planes. They also choose non-stoop, cross-country flights, so the planes will be carrying as much fuel as possible when they strike their targets.
The model and key at the right show the seating assignments of the crew and the ticketed seats of the passengers and hijackers.
