Argentina's foreign policy is based upon the defense of democratic principles, the promotion of human rights, the construction and strengthening of regional integration, and the respect for international law and peaceful settlement of disputes.
Argentina is a founding member of the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the World Trade Organization and the Inter American Development Bank where it works with the international community in order to build a more peaceful and fair world.
Regional integration with our Latin American neighbors has become one of the fundamentals of our foreign policy. MERCOSUR (Mercada Comun del Sur), UNASUR (Union de Naciones Sudamericanas) and CELAC (Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribenos) are different expressions of the will of our people to recreate and strengthen the bonda that have traditionally united us. |
