Existing comment: Welcome to the Embassy of Canada's 25th Anniversary Exhibit.
It is a privilege to have you join us in our celebration of the Embassy's 25th year at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues.
We invite you to engage with the pictures, commentaries, historical records and objects that illustrate an enduring and ever-evolving friendship with the United States -- Canada's closest cultural and geopolitical neighbour.
Opened in 1989 and situated at the foot of Capitol Hill and just ten blocks from the White House, the Embassy occupies a unique place on Pennsylvania Avenue, an "all-American thoroughfare of historic sites, a favored route for parades and protests."
Our exhibit traces the history of Canada's diplomatic presence in Washington, DC, the evolution of the current Embassy at 501 Pennsylvania Avenue and the many ways in which the Embassy reflects and continues to shape the friendship between our two countries.
At the end of the exhibit we invite you to share your thoughts about the building and about the ways in which it represents the special relationship between Canada and the United States.
Enjoy!
