The dinosaur in front of the visitor center is 40 years old. A sign describes it as such: "A Historic Dinosaur: Do you recognize this Stegosaurus replica? If you had been to the 1964 World's Fair in New York City, you might. It was the first of nine life-sized dinosaurs created for Sinclair Oil Corporation's Dinoland exhibit. In 1970, the replica was donated to Dinosaur National Monument where it continues to greet visitors from around the world." |
