Hazel Grove-Fairview Trail:
This trail leads to Fairview, a key Union position. The fighting that occurred between here and Fairview on May 3, 1863, was some of the most desperate of the war -- exceeding, for the time engaged, both Antietam and Gettysburg. Signs along the trail describe the bitter struggle here. |
