The children's book author and illustrator Eric Carle passed on May 23, 2021. In his lifetime, he sold 170 million books, the best known being "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" (1969). He's shown here in 2006 after having received the Smithsonian's John P. McGovern Behavioral Science Award. |
