Susan Champeny creates murals, mosaics, and recycled materials sculpture and teaches students to make anything out of any thing. She splits her creative practice between Hilo HI and Worcester MA. In 2018, she lost her Pahoa HI studio and home to lava during the 2018 Kilauea Eruption. Being abruptly un-homed resulted in a significant change to Susan's artwork, which now focuses on Shelter, Loss, and Transition. Susan's whimsical and engaging sculptures and murals have shown in Atlanta GA, Hilo HI, Binghamton NY, Worcester MA, and Washington DC. |
