Existing comment: The Union Arch Bridge
Sometimes called the "Cabin John Bridge," this was the longest stone arch in the world, built by General Montgomery Meigs in 1870 to carry fresh water from Great Falls to the City of Washington. Today, cars, on MacArthur Blvd. cross atop the old aqueduct, known by frustrated commuters as "the One-Lane Bridge."
