The Booker T. Washington Middle School, PS No. 130, replaced the Old Western High School in 1929. Many renowned alumni have passed through its illustrious halls. Born into slavery, Washington (1856-1915) was freed by the Civil War in 1865 and became an educator, orator, author and leader of the nation's African American community. |
