Blaine House
The Blaine House was completed in 1881 and it served as the house of Republican James Blaine. Blaine had run for President a few times but settled for Speaker of the House and Senator from Maine. Blaine and his family lived here for three years before moving along. In 1901, George Westinghouse, the inventor of the air brake and the founder of the Westinghouse company, purchased the house and lived here until 1914. |
