In 1878 the verandah was significantly expanded to wrap around the face of the building where the balcony is today. Work began on the exterior restoration in the summer of 2003 with the removal of the entire south veranda. In early 2005 the veranda was reconstructed to match the size and detailing seen in Lincoln's time. |
