Anita Lee, 31, Manager, Product Development
Vienna, VA

Anita Lee often puts her creative impulses to practical use – in graphic design, package design, and product design. But with career background working on licensed product design for kids (names like Nickelodeon, Disney, Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Hello Kitty), as well as developing products for a company that produces live entertainment (Ringling Bros. Circus, Disney On Ice, Monster Jam, FMX), this artist knows how important it is to entertain, and her aluminum sculpture of a great white shark, inspired by the movie "Jaws," is a show-stopper.

Lee, whose parents hail from South Korea, was born in Germany but raised in the U.S., where she received a BFA in graphic design from Virginia Tech and a master's degree in package design from Pratt Institute. The 31-year-old's lifetime creative output has ranged from the large (two murals at Virginia Tech) to the small (decorated cakes) and everything in-between (drawings, paintings, sculptures). She sees Red Bull Art of Can as an opportunity to work with new material and create a piece that will be seen by a large audience. "Also," she comments, "winning a prize wouldn't be bad either." And Lee is no stranger to competition: she appeared on the Food Network as an assistant during a "Wedding Cake Challenge."
