Existing comment: A Major Award
Jade Gorman, 25, Event Coordinator
Melville, NY

"I am the most eccentric person I have ever met; and random, too," says Jade Gorman, who has been meeting people on this planet for a quarter century. "I have a fascination of pop culture and pop art, and I collect anything that has to do with Superman: comics, figures, stamps…I'm also one of the tallest Asians you will ever meet." Gorman's middle name, Seu-May, means "little smile," which is appropriate because she seems to smile almost all the time. In presenting her entry, the Long Island resident wanted to make other people smile, too, so she created her own version of the unforgettable leg lamp from the movie "A Christmas Story" – as she describes it, "something nostalgic with a twist!"

Gorman's past works have included drawings, stencil cut-outs, and tattoo concepts. Her favored mediums are pen and ink, watercolor, acrylics, and spray paint. "I had been stuck in a self-proclaimed ‘artist's block' for quite some time, but ever since starting and then completing this work of art [‘A Major Award'], it has jump-started my creativity," she comments. "I haven't figured out what I want to do in life yet. All I know is that I want to live an interesting life full of experiences and enjoying every moment."
