Interment and Identification of The Vietnam Unknown:
Medal of Honor recipient US Marine Corps Sergeant Major Allen Jay Kellogg Jr. designated the Unknown service member form the Vietnam War during a ceremony at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on May 17, 1984. The designated Unknown was then flown to Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland and given a state funeral. On Memorial Day 1984, President Ronald Reagan presided over the funeral, and presented the Medal of Honor. A third crypt was added between the World War II and Korean War Unknown for the entombment of the Vietnam Unknown.
