Existing comment: Components of a State Funeral:
All of the Unknown interred at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier received a full state funeral. In the United States, most state funerals include a service at the Capitol rotunda and lying in state. In addition, the deceased is carried in a formal funeral procession, a religious service is conducted, and a graveside ceremony is held before burial which includes a three-volley fire salute and the playing of Taps. The final component of a state funeral is the folding of the flag that draped the casket.
