USS Maine Memorial: 100 Year Anniversary
Over the next several years the USS Maine Memorial will be undergoing a comprehensive restoration. The USS Maine exploded in the harbor at Havana, Cuba on February 15, 1898. The Memorial, dedicated to the sailors who lost their lives, contains the battleship's original main mast and bell.
Arlington National Cemetery will restore the Memorial to its appearance at its 1915 Dedication Ceremony. |
