According to legend, this dragon, or lindwurm, tormented the people of Klangendurt in the 13th century. The beast was slain by heroic locals and dragged into the town square -- the site of its 1590 statue. The lindwurm sculpture was repurposed into a fountain in 1624 and remains the emblem of the city. |
