Existing comment: Could You Vote in 1970?
When the 26th Amendment was ratified in 1971, most barriers to voting had already been removed. But although 18-year-olds were considered adults, they could not vote. Would have been able to vote in 1970?

The 26th Amendment is the most recent one to broaden voting rights. Five of the 27 ratified amendments expand the right to vote.
