Existing comment: Dorchester House

This building was constructed in 1941. Apartment 502 in this apartment building was the residence of John Kennedy from October 1941 to January 1942 while serving as an ensign with the Office of Naval Intelligence. He was transferred out of Washington after becoming involved with a Danish newspaperwoman Inga Arvad, who was suspected of being a German spy.

Others who have lived here include Kathleen Kennedy (JFK's older sister who worked with Arvad at the Herald-Tribune), Eddie Fisher (singer), and Francis Perkins (Secretary of Labor).
