During the Great War the foibles of the French Navy were delightfully pictured by H. Gervese. These cartoons became the favorites of a whole generation of American Navymen who served at sea with out French and British allies in 1917-1918. This complete set in their original frames is from the estate of the late Admiral J.O. Richardson, Commander in Chief, US Fleet 1940.
