Icewell Terrace:
In the days before refrigeration, ice blocks cut from ponds on the estate were brought to an icehouse at this location to keep food cold. Henry Francis du Pont incorporated this historical remnant into his garden. The terrace provided a parking area for guests who came to play golf at the nearby course on the estate. Today, its facade serves as a focal point, offering spectacular views of the surrounding garden and a shady resting spot.
