Clemenceau Givings: A Tuskegee Airman

During World War II, The Tuskegee Airmen completed more than 1,500 missions. Inducted into the army in 1941, Richmonder Clemenceau Givings opted to join their ranks rather than attend Officer Candidate School. After logging eleven sorties and twenty-seven operation hours, Givings was killed in action over Italy in 1944. This telegram informed his family of his death. |
