The Digital Age

Starting in the mid-1990s, Oliphant no longer left the day's drawing on the front porch for pickup: instead, he began submitting scans by email. As newspapers themselves went digital, his daily cartoons began appearing both in print and online. This syndication pamphlet from the late 1990s itself displays aspects of the digital technology that would soon transform the newspaper industry.

In 1995, Oliphant reduced his daily drawing submissions to four a week, allowing him more flexible time to work in other media. In his final years in syndication, he published just three times a week.
