In order to deploy as many 76mm antitank guns as possible against the Germans, the Soviets mounted the 76.2mm Model 42/49 (?) gun on the chassis of the obsolete T-70 light tank. Relatively cheap to produce, the SU-76 became one of the most common Soviet vehicles of WWII. The SU-75 was supplied to Infantry formations to support infantry in attacks and defend against enemy tanks. With its crew of four, this SU-76 had a top speed of 28 mph. It had a cruising range of 280 miles on roads and 185 miles cross-country. Many SU-76 tank destroyers were supplies to the Chinese and the North Koreans during the Korean War.
