On 12 January 2010, an earthquake of 7.0 on the Richter scale devastated the country of Haiti and took the lives of hundreds of thousands of Haitians. One hundred and two United Nations personnel also perished in the earthquake. This United Nations flag was the one flying at the United Nations premises located at the Hotel Christopher in Port-au-Prince on that day. |
